The movie "My Daughter Is a Zombie," based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name, has confirmed its release date for July 30 and unveiled its main trailer.
"My Daughter Is a Zombie" is a comedic drama about a doting father who goes into top-secret training to protect his daughter, who has become the last remaining zombie on Earth. Actor Cho Jung-seok takes the lead role, aiming to become the summer box office king once again following last year's hit "Pilot" (with a cumulative audience of 4.71 million).
The trailer released on the 26th captures attention with the appearance of 'Jeong-hwan' (Cho Jung-seok)'s daughter 'Su-ah' (Choi Yu-ri), who has been infected with the zombie virus, amidst a broadcast advising to avoid all contact with the infected. 'Jeong-hwan' returns to his hometown of Eunbong-ri to protect his daughter, now the last zombie on Earth. The transformation of 'Su-ah' surprises 'Jeong-hwan' and his friend 'Dong-bae' (Yoon Kyung-ho), who jokes, "Su-ah looks a bit different, huh?" prompting 'Jeong-hwan' and his mother 'Bam-soon' (Lee Jung-eun) to laugh it off, saying, "She's just grown a lot during puberty." 'Jeong-hwan' begins top-secret training to tame 'Su-ah' with the tough love of 'Bam-soon' and the support of 'Dong-bae'.

Meanwhile, 'Jeong-hwan' and 'Bam-soon', witnessing 'Su-ah' remembering the dance she practiced with her dad before infection, continue various training exercises like memory-enhancing exercises and communicating through eye contact, never losing hope.
However, tension rises with the arrival of 'Jeong-hwan's first love 'Yeon-hwa', who despises zombies, exclaiming, "That's not your daughter." The situation spirals out of control as the existence of the infected 'Su-ah' risks being exposed to the outside world. A heart-wrenching scene is added with 'Jeong-hwan' swallowing his tears and promising to wait a little longer for 'Su-ah', who brightly asks, "Can you wait a bit more for me, Dad?" alongside a copy that reads, "Even if the whole world turns its back on you, Dad will never give up."
"My Daughter Is a Zombie" promises to deliver a wealth of fun to audiences with a perfect chemistry among a cast of actors known for their ability to navigate both comedy and drama, including Cho Jung-seok, Lee Jung-eun, Cho Yeo-jeong, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Choi Yu-ri, who all boast a high level of synchrony with their original webtoon characters.
Raising expectations with the release of its main trailer, "My Daughter Is a Zombie" is set to meet audiences in theaters nationwide on July 30.
