After stepping down as the chief producer of SM Entertainment, Lee Soo-man has launched a new global girl group, A2O MAY, which has set a new record by entering the US Mediabase Top 40 chart.
A2O MAY (CHENYU, SHIJIE, QUCHANG, MICHE, KAT) is a team crafted by producer Lee Soo-man, blending the sensibilities of Generation Z and Alpha into a new genre dubbed 'Zalpha Pop'. The group, entirely composed of Chinese members, has made a significant mark with their latest track 'BOSS', ranking 35th on the US mainstream radio chart Mediabase as of June 29th (local time).
Previously, A2O MAY had also charted at 39th place on the US Mediabase Top 40 chart with their debut song 'Under My Skin (A2O)'.
The 'Mediabase Top 40 Chart' is a leading indicator of the North American music scene, aggregating rankings based on actual airplay data from over 180 major radio stations across the US and Canada.
Notably, the data from Mediabase is also used in calculating the Billboard HOT 100 chart's Radio Songs component, adding further significance to this achievement.
In May, A2O MAY completed their first live performance in the US at the 102.7 KIIS FM 'Wango Tango' festival.
