
Actors Choo Young-woo and Shin Si-a have been cast as the leads in the Korean remake of the Japanese romance film "Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight", which has surpassed "Love Letter" in box office success.
According to distributor BY4M STUDIO on the 2nd, "Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight" is set to begin filming on the 5th, following a script reading and traditional ceremony by the actors.
Based on the novel of the same name by Ichijo Misaki, the film tells the tender and poignant love story of a girl suffering from anterograde amnesia, where she loses her memory every time she wakes up, and an ordinary boy living a mundane life.
Choo Young-woo, who rose to fame with "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call," is making his big-screen debut with this film. He plays 'Kim Jae-won,' a character who lives day by day without a clear purpose in life, but begins to change after meeting Han Seo-yoon, who is his complete opposite.
Choo Young-woo shared his enthusiasm, saying, "I really enjoyed both the original novel and the film, so I was eager to be a part of this project. I've been looking forward to it since the offer came in and I really want to do well."
Shin Si-a, who has emerged as a rising star with her roles in "The Witch: Part 2. The Other One" and the drama "Resident Playbook," will portray the female lead, 'Han Seo-yoon.' Despite suffering from anterograde amnesia, Han Seo-yoon tries to live her life with joy and positive energy.
"I'm thrilled and excited to play a character from a work I'm a fan of," Shin Si-a said before filming. "I'll do my best to ensure that the warm sincerity reaches the audience."
The film is directed by Kim Hye-young, who received critical and audience acclaim for "It's Okay!"
"Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight" is set to begin filming on July 5th, with the goal of releasing in theaters in 2025 after shooting and post-production work.
