On July 2, a video titled 'Who's Marrying Our Shinji?' was uploaded on Shinji's YouTube channel. The video featured Shinji and Moon Won having a meal and conversation with Koyote members Kim Jong-min and Bbaekga.
After the meal, during tea time, Shinji said, "Since today is about properly introducing Moon Won to the members, I have something serious I want to share first. It's something you all must know." This prompted Moon Won to say, "I think I should be the one to say this, and it might surprise you."
Moon Won shared, "Many of you have come to know me as Shinji's boyfriend and fiancé. I didn't realize how famous Ji-sun (Shinji's real name) was. I only saw her as a woman. That made me want to treat her even better and live diligently without making mistakes." He then confessed, "What I want to tell you is, I've been married once before." He added, "I have a lovely daughter. She's being raised by my ex-wife, but we communicate and try to jointly care for her."
Moon Won continued, "Initially, Shinji didn't know, but as our relationship deepened, I felt we needed to be honest, so I told her about my divorce. Shinji needed some time to prepare. During that time, she thought a lot and told me, 'Because I like you and I love you, I can embrace this.' That gave me strength."
Shinji expressed, "Imagine how tough it was to keep this to yourself. I told him, 'That must have been hard.'" She understood his situation.
Shinji also mentioned, "If Kim Jong-min or Bbaekga found out through someone else, it would have been disappointing. Although not many people know about Moon Won now, as he becomes more known, this could come out through someone else. The same goes for our fans. We thought it was right for us to reveal it directly."
Shinji acknowledged, "There might be some concerned looks," but also said, "I actually admired his sense of responsibility. It wasn't about ignoring the situation, but rather, trying to protect and responsibly care for his child. That made me think, 'He could show that side to me too.'"
Kim Jong-min commented, "As long as Shinji knows and is okay with it, I hope no one else makes a fuss about it," showing support for the couple. Bbaekga also expressed his support, saying, "If the two of you are happy and in love, it's not my place to worry."
Moon Won promised, "I'll work hard for Ji-sun in the future. Please watch over us."
Meanwhile, Shinji and Moon Won, a couple with a seven-year age gap, recently completed their wedding shoot and are planning to get married in the first half of next year.
