"Biting Down Hard for the Win" 'Kick a Goal' Actionistas vs. Balladream, Face Off for the Semifinals Spot
Kick a GoalThe third team to advance to the G League semifinals will be revealed on SBS’s “Kick a Goal”.

On the upcoming episode airing July 9, FC Actionista, which holds the record for the fewest goals conceded in Group A, will face FC Balladream, known as the “giant slayer” for being the only team to defeat Group B’s top team, FC Wonder Woman, in a fierce battle for a spot in the final four.

With both teams entering the knockout round where a single loss means elimination, the tension is at an all-time high. Park Ji-an of Actionista vowed, “I’ll fight harder than I did in the national team matches,” while Minseo of Balladream declared, “If we lose, it is over.

We have to win today,” showcasing her unwavering determination. With Balladream boasting a red-hot offense and Actionista holding strong as a classic powerhouse, all eyes are on which team will advance.

To counter star player Park Ji-an, Balladream’s head coach, Hyun Young-min—nicknamed “Pepe”—devised a special shutdown strategy. The key player in this plan is rookie fighter Jung Ye-won.

Previously, Coach Hyun transformed into “Hyunshima” to help stop Wonder Woman’s ace, Mashima.

This time, he took on the persona of “Hyun Ji-an” and ran intense one-on-one body training drills with Jung. Jung responded with grit, saying, “I’ll mark Park Ji-an until I feel like I’m about to die.”

During the actual match, whenever Park got the ball, Jung unleashed her signature “zombie defense,” drawing gasps from the crowd. Fans are now wondering—can this ace eraser, who once erased the fearsome Mashima, do the same to the “fantasista” Park Ji-an?

Adding to the excitement is the showdown between two of the show’s strongest trios. FC Actionista’s rising trio—Tae-Hye-Ji (Taemi, Jung Hye-in, and Park Ji-an)—will take on Balladream’s OG trio, Sam-Seo-Ji-Dae (Gyeongseo, Seogi, and Minseo).

With the addition of the show’s first transfer player, Taemi, Tae-Hye-Ji has emerged as a dynamic force, dominating both offense and defense to help revive their team.

Meanwhile, Sam-Seo-Ji-Dae, with years of chemistry under their belt, brings unbeatable teamwork to the table. “No one can match our tiki-taka,” boasted Seogi, the team’s top technician. Which trio will lead their team to victory? The anticipation is building.

Also making headlines is former Korea Women’s National Team head coach, Colin Bell, who returned to the Kick a Goal stadium after attending the Super League finals.

Ahead of the game, he met with commentator Ha Seok-joo and even showcased his Korean skills—expressing his love for the show and his interest in joining the coaching staff.

During the match, Bell reportedly could not take his eyes off the action, fully immersed like a true “Kick a Goal” superfan.

The fierce semifinal race between FC Actionista and FC Balladream, along with the prideful showdown between Tae-Hye-Ji and Sam-Seo-Ji-Dae, will be revealed on Kick a Goal this Wednesday, July 9, at 9 p.m. KST.
