Kwangsoo (nickname), a contestant from the 26th season of the ENA·SBS Plus dating show 'I Am Solo', opened up about various controversies during an Instagram live stream on the 8th.
After making inappropriate comments about his fellow contestants, he revealed that he has been ostracized by other contestants and has not received his appearance fee due to violating the contract's non-disclosure agreement.
Kwangsoo shared, "I've been just hanging out, not going to work these days." He continued, "Even if I seem okay, I'm not. I've been getting a lot of hate in the comments, and I wanted to stand strong. I've made many mistakes and plan to change my personality. I won't make excuses to other contestants. I've already apologized."
Previously, Kwangsoo faced backlash for comments made during a YouTube broadcast on the 24th of last month, where he mentioned the financial struggles of his fellow contestants' families, leading to public criticism. He later apologized to contestants like Hyunsook via social media.
Kwangsoo stated, "What I said about Hyunsook and Jung-sook's families being poor was meant to highlight their struggles. Other contestants dislike me. I'm being shunned. No one is in contact with me. I couldn't even attend the final live broadcast of 'I Am Solo'. I wanted to go, but my other contestants and the production team told me not to."
He also mentioned not receiving his appearance fee, saying, "I'm not in contact with the production team. I haven't received my fee. I haven't seen the contract, but if this is my punishment, I'll accept it. It seems I won't be able to participate in any programs related to 'I Am Solo' in the future. I've been cut off by the production team."
Additionally, Kwangsoo apologized to Hyunsook, the contestant who became the final couple with him, clarifying, "The claim that we dated for 40 days isn't true. After the show ended, I had to go to Iraq, so we only met twice." He added, "I won't mention Hyunsook anymore. I'm being cautious in case it causes her discomfort."
Despite the controversies, Kwangsoo believes he played a significant role in the 26th season. He boasted, "Honestly, without me, the season would have been boring and might not have aired. As for my future plans, I don't have any at the moment. I'm just going to go with the flow."
