Cube Entertainment's rookie boy group NOWZ has marked a new beginning with the release of their first mini-album 'IGNITION' today (9th).
After undergoing a name change and rebranding, NOWZ is ready to face the world with music that captures the imperfect yet passionate emotions of youth.
The album 'IGNITION', as the name suggests, is about igniting the hidden potential and passion within youth. It features a total of 5 tracks, including the title track 'EVERGLOW'. NOWZ aims to resonate and provide comfort to their peers living in this era with the theme of "imperfect yet brilliant youth".
The title track 'EVERGLOW' is an alternative rock song that combines cool electric guitar sounds with powerful metal sounds, completing NOWZ's energetic message. The lyrics, which talk about moving towards dreams like a flame that never goes out even in ashes, symbolize the frustration and rebound of youth. The album was overseen by main producer EL CAPITXN, with members Jinhyuk and Siyoon participating in rap making to actively showcase the team's color.
The music video depicts the journey of youth seeking hope in a dystopian setting. The scenes of NOWZ walking through a desolate world reflect the genuine contemplation of life's direction by Generation Z.
The pre-released single 'Fly to the Youth (Feat. YUQI)' is a cinematic soul pop song featuring I-DLE's YUQI, who participated in lyrics, composition, producing, and featuring. The refreshing sound and soft emotions showcase NOWZ's delicate musical side.
Additionally, the album includes 'Problem Child', a declaration of not being swayed by others' views while acknowledging oneself as a troublemaker, the dance-pop 'Louder' with its energetic sound, and the fan song 'Diary (DAY_AND)' that records precious everyday moments with fans, expanding the genre spectrum fitting for their first mini-album.
Celebrating their first anniversary, NOWZ recently announced a new start with a name change and rebranding. With the team name symbolizing "drawing infinite possibilities at this moment," NOWZ dreams of leaping to a broader stage through this album. Having gained attention for their stable vocals and performance in a short time since debut, NOWZ aims to establish themselves as the leading rookies of the Zalpha generation with this album.
