Actress Shim Eun-kyung has been officially invited to the International Competition section of the 78th Locarno International Film Festival with the movie "Tabi to Hibi", a collaboration with Japan's young master director Miyake Sho.

Shim Eun-kyung's agency, Fanfare, announced, "Shim Eun-kyung's starring film 'Tabi to Hibi' has been officially invited to the International Competition section of the 78th Locarno International Film Festival," adding, "As the lead actress of this film, Shim Eun-kyung is scheduled to attend the festival in person."

"Tabi to Hibi" is a film that has garnered significant attention for being a collaboration between Miyake Sho, a director currently in the spotlight at film festivals worldwide, and Shim Eun-kyung, the first Korean actress to achieve the feat of winning the Best Actress award in both Korea and Japan.

Shim Eun-kyung expressed her excitement, "It's truly an honor to be part of Miyake Sho's beautiful world. The thought of presenting this work on the prestigious stage of the Locarno Film Festival already has my heart racing. I hope you all can join us on this first journey of 'Tabi to Hibi'."

The Locarno International Film Festival, one of the oldest film festivals in the world, began in 1946. Held annually in August in Locarno, northeastern Switzerland, it is considered one of the top six film festivals globally. Shim Eun-kyung, officially invited to this year's festival running from August 6 to 16, plans to grace the event with her presence.

Meanwhile, Shim Eun-kyung has confirmed her role in the upcoming tvN drama "How to Become a Building Owner in Korea" (literal title) and is busy preparing for her next project.
