NCT's DOYOUNG has kept his promise following a music show win.
On the 11th, DOYOUNG donated 100 million won to support young adults preparing for independence and children under protection. The donation was made through the transparent donation platform, Direct Donation, ensuring that 'every single won is delivered without fail'.
Previously, DOYOUNG had promised to make a donation if he won first place on a music show during his comeback with his second solo album, Soar, last month. Following through on his promise, he achieved a triple crown on music shows with his title track "Memory".
DOYOUNG expressed, "Thanks to the love from our fans, I received the precious gift of first place and was able to fulfill my promise to donate. I hope this can provide some strength to the children and young adults preparing for a new start."
The donation will be used to support summer care kits for children and teenagers in child welfare facilities and young adults preparing for independence. These kits, filled with groceries, nutritional supplements, and meal kits, will be delivered to children living in orphanages and group homes, as well as young adults preparing for independence after leaving care.
The manager of Direct Donation, Go Ha-eun, expressed gratitude, saying, "We will ensure that DOYOUNG's warm heart fully reaches the young people in need."
Meanwhile, Direct Donation, the platform through which DOYOUNG made his contribution, is operated by the SK Happiness Foundation. It boasts high transparency by allowing donors to select items for their donation basket and monitor the use of the donation funds in real time.
