The ENA·SBS Plus reality show 'I am Solo' has brought another couple into the real world. Season 16's Kwang-soo and Season 22's Hyun-sook have officially confirmed they are in a relationship, proving the online dating rumors true.
The couple shared in a statement on the 16th, "We are currently in a serious relationship and are very happy together."
They explained, "We both have had our share of ups and downs in the past, so we wanted to keep our relationship quiet and only shared the news with our families. However, due to recent sightings and unauthorized photos, we felt it was time to cautiously share our position." They added, "We plan to cherish and love each other quietly but firmly, and we would appreciate your warm support."
Previously, an online community post titled "Hyun-sook from Season 22 and Kwang-soo from Season 16 are dating" went viral. The author claimed, "I saw Kwang-soo giving Hyun-sook a back hug and a kiss on the escalator at the Songdo outlet. He just couldn't keep his hands off her."
In their statement, Hyun-sook shared, "Our first meeting could be an episode on its own. It was the end of May, a time when I was fearful of new relationships and felt that human connections were as taxing as emotional labor. Yet, it felt like fate when we met." She continued, "He said he was smitten the moment he saw me walking towards him from afar."
Both individuals were candid about their lives during their respective seasons on the show. Kwang-soo revealed in Season 16, "I've been married and divorced twice, at 29 and 36. I take full responsibility. I was immature and lacked responsibility." He currently runs a startup in Yangpyeong.
Hyun-sook opened up in Season 22 about considering an annulment due to her ex-husband's fault, leading to a divorce after just nine months. She is now a single mother raising a three-year-old daughter and works as an online Chinese language teacher.
