Gill of Leessang has made a heartfelt return to the stage after 13 years.
On the 15th, Gill revealed his return through a YouTube channel 'LeessangGill' in a video titled <'Leessang Gill Comeback' Idol Collaboration Lands on Stage [EP.Shin Ji-yoon]>. He joined forces with his junior, singer Shin Ji-yoon, for her college final exam performance, creating a deeply moving moment.
The production team joked, "It seems like it's been quite a while since you've performed, so we prepared this stage for you," to which Gill laughed, "Ah, you think I'd fall for that?" However, just 30 minutes after arriving for rehearsal, Gill admitted, "It's been 20 years since I've rehearsed," revealing his own unfamiliar feelings.
Though not an official comeback, Gill's performance brought joy just the same. After waiting for over four hours, he took the stage with students from Dong-Ah Institute of Media and Arts' K-pop department, melting away the limitations of budget and preparation time with laughter, and returning to the 'Gill on stage' from 13 years ago.
After the performance, Shin Ji-yoon shared, "I grew up listening to Leessang's music. Just being able to share the stage with them was incredibly moving and made me so happy. It's a moment I'll never forget."
Leessang fans were deeply touched by the video. Although Gill is not currently active in official music activities, this single video has satisfied many fans' longing.
Fans commented, "Honestly, if Leessang held a concert now, wouldn't it sell out immediately? Please, hold one," "Wow... I've missed seeing Gill perform. Last month, Gill launched the YouTube channel 'LeessangGill' and embarked on a new journey as a YouTuber. 'LeessangGill' produces content with a fresh concept of collaboration, breaking all forms and procedures with people who have social media channels.
