Lee Do, a social studies lecturer currently appearing on the Netflix dating show 'Better Late than Single,' has recently announced a pause in her lectures due to health reasons, sparking concern among fans and students.
Lee Do is a star lecturer affiliated with an online and offline education platform company ETOOS. She has built a reputation as the 'only integrated social sciences major from Seoul National University' and 'the youngest SAT lecturer at ETOOS'.
However, on June 23, ETOOS announced on its official website that "due to the lecturer's health and personal scheduling issues, only a portion of the lectures for the 2026 season will be newly provided, and the rest of the curriculum will utilize existing lectures." ETOOS explained that this decision was made after careful consideration to ensure that students' learning progress is minimally disrupted.
Amidst this, the popularity of 'Better Late than Single,' in which Lee Do is participating, has surged, leading to speculation about the timing of the lecture pause and the show's filming.
Some have speculated that the pause in lectures was due to the reality show filming. However, according to the production team, filming for the show concluded in September 2024, and the announcement of Lee Do's lecture break was made in June 2025, indicating that the two events are unrelated in terms of timing.
'Better Late than Single' is a makeover dating reality show where 'love-challenged' individuals learn about romance for the first time. It has recently entered the global top 10 (non-English TV category), receiving widespread acclaim both domestically and internationally. Lee Do, in particular, has won viewers' hearts with her earnest manner of speaking and candid attitude.
