Singer G-DRAGON has been named the ambassador for the '2025 Gyeongju Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit'.
On the 23rd, Prime Minister Kim Min-seok, who also serves as the chairman of the APEC Summit Preparatory Committee, shared the exciting news on his social media, announcing, "I am thrilled to appoint G-DRAGON as the ambassador for the 2025 Gyeongju APEC Summit."
Prime Minister Kim described G-DRAGON as "an artist who represents South Korea and has shown endless creativity and innovation, including broadcasting his music into space." He added, "Starting today, 100 days before the summit, I look forward to the synergy that G-DRAGON and APEC will create together."
The '2025 Gyeongju APEC Summit' marks the return of the APEC summit to South Korea after 20 years, set to take place in Gyeongju this November. G-DRAGON will play a pivotal role in bridging culture and diplomacy, promoting APEC to the world.
Last year, G-DRAGON was appointed as a visiting professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). In April, he successfully collaborated with Professor Lee Jin-jun from the Graduate School of Cultural Technology to broadcast his music and iris image into space.
