Actress Yang Mi-ra has personally addressed the controversy surrounding her violation of airline luggage regulations.
In the early hours of the 24th, Yang Mi-ra took to her Instagram to post a lengthy message starting with "It must be past 1 AM in Korea," where she clarified her stance on the recent controversy involving the carriage of a power bank in her luggage.
Previously, Yang Mi-ra shared her departure to Canada with her two children on the 22nd, mentioning that she had "carried a power bank in her suitcase," which she disclosed on social media. This statement sparked criticism for potentially violating airline security regulations, as current rules mandate that power banks must be carried on board and not checked in.
Regarding this, Yang Mi-ra expressed, "I was bewildered by the articles that distorted the facts. I thought staying quiet would resolve things, but I realized it might make me seem thoughtless for knowingly violating the rules and even boasting about it, so I decided to post this explanation."

She explained, "Traveling with children meant we had a lot of luggage, and in the chaos of packing three weeks' worth of belongings right before departure, I didn't realize the power bank had ended up in the suitcase. Fortunately, it was caught during a check at the airport before boarding, and I was able to remove it and board the plane without any issues."
She continued, "The situation was reported as if I had intentionally violated the regulations and proudly admitted to it, which is not true. It was a very thin power bank that had accidentally slipped between clothes, and I didn't notice it," she added.
Yang Mi-ra also mentioned, "I'm always a bit scatterbrained and was especially busy before departure, which I mentioned in my social media post. Not providing the full context led to misunderstandings, for which I am sorry. However, not double-checking my luggage was indeed my responsibility, and I will be more careful in the future."
Meanwhile, Yang Mi-ra married a businessman two years her senior in 2018 and has a son and a daughter.
