The film 'Omniscient Reader,' starring Ahn Hyo-seop and Lee Min-ho, has made a blockbuster debut at number one in the box office.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network for cinema tickets, 'Omniscient Reader' pulled in an impressive 122,491 viewers nationwide on its opening day, the 23rd. This feat knocked 'F1 The Movie,' the previous day's leader, off the top spot.

'Omniscient Reader' is a fantasy action film where the world of a novel, which has been serialized for over a decade, becomes reality on the day it concludes. The story follows 'Kim Dokja,' the novel's sole reader, who, along with the novel's protagonist 'Yoo Joonghyuk' and his allies, strives to survive in this now apocalyptic world. The film showed strong pre-release interest, topping the reservation charts five days before its release and drawing in over 120,000 moviegoers on its first day, signaling a promising start. A significant surge in audience numbers is expected over the weekend.

Securing the second spot in the box office during the same period was 'F1: The Movie,' which managed to attract 40,788 viewers despite the competition. It has continued its strong performance, amassing a total of 2,018,983 viewers to date.
