With just two days until its release, the movie "My Daughter Is a Zombie," starring Cho Jung-seok, has climbed to the top of the pre-sale charts.

According to the Film Promotion Committee's tally on the 28th, "My Daughter Is a Zombie" achieved a pre-sale rate of 37.2% (as of 10:15 AM), surpassing 220,000 tickets sold and securing its position at number one. It significantly outpaced the second-place "F1: The Movie" (13.7%) and third-place "Omniscient Reader" (12.1%), hinting at a box office debut in the top spot.

"My Daughter Is a Zombie" is a comedic drama about a doting father who undergoes secret training to protect his daughter, who has become the last remaining zombie on Earth. The movie is based on a Naver webtoon of the same name, which has amassed over 500 million views globally.

The film's main competitor, "Omniscient Reader," which opened a week earlier, recorded lower audience numbers than expected during its opening weekend, which turned out to be a boon for "My Daughter Is a Zombie." Just as comedy films showed strong performance during last summer's season, this year, too, it remains to be seen whether comedies can outperform big-budget blockbusters in the competition.

"My Daughter Is a Zombie" is set to premiere on the 30th.
