Cha Eun-woo, a member of the group ASTRO and an actor, enlisted in the army today to fulfill his national defense duties.

Cha Eun-woo entered the army training center located in Nonsan, South Chungcheong Province, at approximately 1:45 PM today. His agency, Fantagio, had previously announced that he would be enlisting quietly without any official events. True to their word, Cha Eun-woo was seen entering the recruitment center in a black vehicle without making a public appearance.

With his enlistment, Cha Eun-woo is set to undergo basic military training for about five weeks before beginning his service in the army band.

He was reported to have passed the army band audition in May. Currently serving in the army band are singers Yoo Seung-woo, Kim Woo-seok, and NCT JAEHYUN, among others. DK of the boy group iKON also enlisted on the same day as Cha Eun-woo, starting their military life together as peers.

The day before his enlistment, Cha Eun-woo bid farewell to his fans through a YouTube live broadcast, revealing his freshly cut short hair. He expressed his amazement at the situation, saying, "It's surreal that this day has come for me. This might be the shortest my hair has been since I was two or three years old," and assured his fans, "I will return safely and in good health. I wish you all the best in everything you do," receiving warm support from his fans.

Support also poured in from his agency family and fellow celebrities. Actor Lee Sang-yeob left a message on his social media saying, "Take care and return safely, Eun-woo," while Weki Meki's Choi Yoo-jung and ASTRO member Yoon San-ha visited the site to see him off.
