Ahead of the release of his second full album 'IM HERO 2', singer Lim Young-woong has decided to produce a physical package in the form of an album book instead of a traditional CD. This heartfelt decision aims to deliver music digitally while preserving collectibles in a meaningful way.
According to an announcement made through Lim Young-woong's official social media on the 29th, the upcoming second full album, set to be released on August 29, will not come in the usual CD format. Instead, fans will receive an 'album book' package filled with photos and messages. Fish Music, his agency, stated, "This decision was made after lengthy discussions and deep contemplation with Lim Young-woong. Although the format has changed, we hope the sincerity and emotions contained within will be conveyed even more closely to the fans."

This choice stems not just from a simple format change, but from genuine environmental concerns and consideration for the relationship with fans. In a digital age where CD albums are becoming harder to enjoy, and excessive collecting and consumption competition may burden fans, the artist's philosophy that a physical album's symbolic and emotional value doesn't necessarily have to be in 'disc' form is reflected.
The album book will include photos related to the second full album, album credits, and messages directly from Lim Young-woong. It aims to satisfy fans' desire to collect while also encapsulating commemorative and emotional value.
The album book will be available for exclusive pre-order starting July 31 at 2 PM through Lim Young-woong's official MD store, 'I'm Hero Mall', and will not be included in album sales charts. Fish Music added, "We want to focus on what's more precious than sales figures."
Meanwhile, Lim Young-woong's second full album 'IM HERO 2' is set to be released on August 29. In anticipation of the comeback, various content will also be sequentially unveiled. Fans are eagerly awaiting to see the impact of this departure from the familiar format.
