Actress Hong Seo-hee is set to lead the new office fantasy comedy film 'Theory of Sicsa'.
Her agency, Lucky Monster Entertainment, announced, "Hong Seo-hee has joyfully completed filming 'Theory of Sicsa' as the lead. She has prepared diligently for a fresh character transformation, and we ask for your continued support and anticipation."
'Theory of Sicsa' is an office fantasy comedy that tells the uplifting story of an ordinary office worker who, after stumbling upon a secret chicken recipe, experiences a delightful turn of events in his life.
Based on a popular web animation of the same name, this project has garnered explosive popularity among Generation Z, surpassing 20 million views. The film adds a unique societal message to the premise that "the food you eat reveals who you are," leading to its adaptation into a live-action movie.
Directed by Park Soo-won, known for her unique sensibility in works like 'Birthcare Center' and 'Work Later, Drink Now 2', and produced by a team behind major projects such as 'Exhuma', 'Along with the Gods', and 'My Dearest Fu Bao', the film promises high quality.
In the film, Hong Seo-hee plays Yu-jin, a career woman idolized by everyone in the company for her goddess-like appearance. Despite her perfect and aloof exterior, Yu-jin is a complex character harboring shameful secrets and desires, adding tension to the story. The plot thickens with unpredictable confrontations between Yu-jin and the protagonist, Kyung-soo (played by Hong Jin-ki), after he acquires the legendary chicken recipe.
Hong previously received acclaim for her role as a former sharpshooter turned hotelier navigating a zombie apocalypse in the Coupang Play series 'Newtopia'. In 'Theory of Sicsa', she introduces a new facet of her acting range by adding a mix of comedy and mystery to her character.
Meanwhile, 'Theory of Sicsa' promises an immersive viewing experience with its 'experiential screening format', which expands the act of eating into content, stimulating all five senses of the audience. The film is scheduled for release in Lotte Cinemas nationwide this August.
