Is summer the season for comedy? The zombie comedy film 'My Daughter Is a Zombie,' starring Cho Jung-seok, has set a new record for the highest number of pre-sold tickets this year, just a day before its release.

'My Daughter Is a Zombie' is a comedic drama about a doting father who goes into top-secret training to protect his daughter, who has become the last remaining zombie on Earth. According to the Integrated Computer Network for Cinema Admission Tickets, as of 10:40 AM on the 29th, 'My Daughter Is a Zombie' has pre-sold 273,354 tickets, breaking the record for the highest number of pre-sold tickets for a 2025 release.

This surpasses the record set by Bong Joon-ho's highly anticipated new film 'Mickey 17' (244,159 tickets) and even 'Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning' (255,213 tickets), which had the highest pre-sales and audience numbers this year.

Moreover, the audience's response has been overwhelmingly positive following the screenings and pre-release weekend appearances. The film's high casting synchrony, the ensemble performance by the actors, and the mix of humor and emotion in a zombie narrative have all received high marks.

'My Daughter Is a Zombie' will be available in theaters nationwide starting tomorrow, the 30th.
