The K-animation 'The King of Kings' has broken through the 800,000 national viewers mark just 14 days after its release, showcasing its competitive edge in the fierce domestic summer market.

While 'The King of Kings' celebrated a remarkable achievement by grossing $60 million in North America since its April release, setting a new box office record for Korean films in North America, its success in the domestic market holds a special significance. Domestic animations often struggled to make a significant impact at the box office and were frequently undervalued in terms of quality. This success demonstrates the endless potential and marketability of homegrown animations.

On July 30th, the production team celebrated surpassing 800,000 viewers by releasing a 'Decade of Records,' a heartfelt documentation of the blood, sweat, and tears that went into making the movie.

This video captures the entire filmmaking process, from the initial storyboard, character design that outlines the expressions and movements of the characters, concept art that sets the tone and atmosphere of scenes through color, to the use of virtual sets for virtual shooting. It sequentially covers the entire process, including the creation of 3D animation, lighting & compositing work, and voice dubbing by actors to bring the characters to life.

The 'The King of Kings' production journey video is special in that it compresses the entire process from planning to technical completion into a single piece of content. It is expected to provide real inspiration not only to general audiences curious about the production process but also to aspiring animators.

The video is currently available on the official Instagram, and an event is also underway until July 30th (Wednesday), where leaving a supportive comment could win you a special gift.

'The King of Kings' is a global hit K-animation that depicts the journey of Charles Dickens, a renowned British author, and his youngest son Walter into the greatest story ever told 2000 years ago. Directed by Jang Sung-ho, a pioneer in domestic VFX, with voice dubbing contributions from Lee Byung-hun and Lee Hanee.
