Former national short track speed skater, Kim Dong-sung, is now making headlines for his dedication to his work as a construction worker, even amidst the sweltering heat.
Kim Dong-sung and his wife, In Min-jung, who he remarried, shared a glimpse of his daily struggle against the deadly heat on social media last July 29th. They posted a photo of Kim, drenched in sweat, with a caption that read, "Fighting the deadly heat in the same workplace, but a different space. We must overcome." The image of Kim working hard on the construction site in the midst of a historic heatwave, with temperatures nearing 40 degrees Celsius, has left a strong impression on many.
Since 2023, Kim Dong-sung has been leading a new life on the construction site. In Min-jung has previously expressed her pride and admiration for Kim, saying, "I'm so proud and respectful of Kim, who is enduring the heat. His face is sunburned, and his hands and feet have become rough, but why does he look so cool to me?"
Meanwhile, Kim Dong-sung, who retired honorably with a gold medal as a national short track speed skater, has faced various challenges after venturing into different fields such as coaching and commentating, including divorce, personal scandals, and legal disputes. It is known that Kim, a father of two, is now balancing his life between construction work and coaching short track speed skating.
