'Dream Team' Jun Ji-hyun & Gang Dong-won Finally Unveil 'Tempest' Trailer
PolarisThe Disney+ original series 'Tempest', starring actors Jun Ji-hyun and Gang Dong-won, has released a teaser poster and trailer, heralding the birth of a new espionage romance.

'Tempest' tells the story of 'Moon-ju' (Jun Ji-hyun), a UN ambassador who has gained international fame, as she investigates the mastermind behind a presidential candidate's assassination attempt. Alongside her is 'San-ho' (Gang Dong-won), a stateless special agent who must protect her at all costs, as they confront a monumental truth threatening the Korean peninsula.

The teaser poster, released on the 30th, captures the imagination with its stunning visuals of Moon-ju and San-ho against a backdrop of dozens of lights pouring out of the darkness, both looking in the same direction. The cascade of light towards Moon-ju and San-ho raises questions about whether it represents the Tempest they must follow or the threats and chaos directed at them.

Additionally, the tagline "We will break through this storm and head towards the light waiting for us" encapsulates the moment of connection between the two characters amidst precarious tension. The news of Jun Ji-hyun and Gang Dong-won's collaboration alone has sparked hot topics, and the intense chemistry they promise to deliver, along with the anticipation for the espionage romance genre, heightens expectations.

The teaser trailer also grabs attention with its grand scale. In Seoul, South Korea, during a mass praying for peace and unification, tragic gunfire erupts. At this historic site that shocks the world, Moon-ju and San-ho meet for the first time. The dialogue "This is much bigger than you think" and the mysterious object rising from the deep sea hint at an unpredictable unfolding of events. The urgent scenes at the White House in the United States, featuring Deputy Secretary of State 'Anderson' (John Cho) and the line "A storm is coming" amplify curiosity about a massive event that will shake not only the Korean peninsula but the entire world.

The narrative of Moon-ju deciding to run for election to uncover the mastermind behind the presidential candidate's assassination and San-ho risking his life to protect her, surrounded by a series of large-scale terrorist attacks, generates both shock and tension. Moon-ju's calm narration expressing complex emotions, "Who are you? Why have you come to me?" and the dramatic encounter of the two at a bus stop stimulate the imagination about the future development of their relationship and the drama.

Moreover, the presence of actors like Lee Mi-sook, Park Hae-joon, Kim Hae-sook, Yoo Jae-myung, and Oh Jung-se, who command attention by their mere appearance, focuses the audience's attention.

'Tempest' is a collaboration between writer Jeong Seo-kyung of the film 'Decision to Leave' and the drama 'Little Women', director Kim Hee-won of the drama 'The Queen of Tears' and 'Vincenzo', and director Heo Myeong-haeng of the films 'The Outlaws 4' and 'The Wilderness'.

With its unique casting and top-notch production team, along with a story of unimaginable scale and unpredictable twists, the Disney+ original series 'Tempest' is set to premiere on Disney+ with three episodes on September 10th (Wednesday) and two episodes weekly from September 17th (Wednesday), totaling nine episodes.
