Former girl group ALICE member SOHEE has taken legal action against false rumors surrounding her.
Known for her appearance on 'K-Pop Star 6', she announced her retirement from the entertainment industry last year and married a non-celebrity, leading a normal life. However, she recently expressed her distress and took a firm stance against baseless rumors.
On the 30th, SOHEE stated on her social media, "I've been made uncomfortable by completely unfounded false facts recently, and have proceeded with a lawsuit. The case has now been forwarded to the investigative authorities," she revealed.
She continued, "In my 10 years in the entertainment industry, I've never once acted dishonorably. I believe I've always done my best quietly in my place and walked this path with responsibility. It's been very hard on me to see my sincerity and honor distorted," sharing her feelings.
According to SOHEE, the rumors started with claims that she "met her husband while working at a bar," and escalated to manipulated conversation images and threatening remarks about her family. "The false facts were spread by an influencer account with a large following. Initially, I tried to let it go with a warning, but the perpetrator began to cross the line," she explained.
She added, "Shaking someone's life with false facts is not something that can be taken lightly. I plan to pursue this matter without any leniency to the end."
Previously, SOHEE had announced her marriage to a businessman 15 years her senior in April last year.
At that time, she left the group ALICE, terminated her contract with her agency, and declared her retirement from the entertainment industry. Through a handwritten letter, she expressed her intention to live her second life as Kim Sohee, not ALICE SOHEE, receiving much support from her fans.
