Actress Son Ye-jin is set to reveal a new side of herself in 'No Other Choice', an invited competition entry at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival.

'No Other Choice' tells the story of 'Mansoo' (played by Lee Byung-hun), a company employee who thought he had everything in life until he suddenly loses his job. To protect his wife and two children, and to save the house he worked hard to acquire, he prepares for his own battle to re-enter the workforce.

Son Ye-jin plays 'Miri', Mansoo's wife, who becomes stronger in the face of crisis. Instead of blaming her husband for his unemployment, Miri offers comfort and remains the pillar of the family, showcasing her rational character that doesn't easily falter under any circumstances.

Son Ye-jin delicately portrays Miri, who, despite the sudden financial crisis, gives up her hobbies to join the workforce, all while maintaining a positive attitude to encourage her family members. Teaming up with Lee Byung-hun for the first time, she delivers a realistic portrayal of a married couple, adding rich entertainment to the film.

"Miri has an optimistic personality and never loses her smile. I approached the role by thinking about how Miri would handle such situations," Son Ye-jin shared, promising to dominate the screen with her presence in 'No Other Choice'.

Director Park Chan-wook, working with Son Ye-jin for the first time, praised her, saying, "Son Ye-jin is a professional actress who knows exactly how to express what's needed." He expressed high satisfaction with her performance.

Park Chan-wook's new film 'No Other Choice' is scheduled for release in September.
