The film 'Omniscient Reader', starring Ahn Hyo-seop and Lee Min-ho, has seen its daily viewership plummet to the 30,000s just one week after its release, signaling a red alert for its box office performance.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network for movie ticket sales, 'Omniscient Reader' attracted 31,115 viewers nationwide on July 31, dropping to 5th place at the box office. The cumulative audience count stands at 857,517.

Since its premiere on July 23, 'Omniscient Reader' had initially gathered 620,000 viewers, securing the top spot at the box office during its opening weekend. However, it was overtaken during the weekdays of its second week by 'F1: The Movie' and 'My Daughter Is a Zombie', losing its leading position.

The concerning part is the trend in audience numbers. After managing to attract only 50,000 viewers on the Monday of its second week, the viewership for 'Omniscient Reader' dropped to the 30,000s by July 31. Meanwhile, 'My Daughter Is a Zombie', released on July 30, boasted a strong showing with 700,000 viewers in just two days, and 'F1: The Movie', in its sixth week, continued to show strong performance, making the path to success for 'Omniscient Reader' even more challenging.

'Omniscient Reader' is now facing a do-or-die situation over its second weekend. If it fails to make a comeback this week, it could spell a nightmare for its summer box office run. The director and actors plan to meet with audiences directly by continuing stage greetings during the second week in an effort to turn the tide.
