The eve of the 80th Liberation Day, titled "We Are the Light," will unfold on August 14th (Thursday) at 8 PM at the Heungnyemun Plaza of Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul, with the recorded event airing on SBS the same night.
"We Are the Light" aims not only to celebrate the historical liberation but also to step beyond the past, fostering unity and showcasing a new path of liberation towards the future, transcending culture.
This event seeks to demonstrate social integration and harmony while shining a light on Korea's cultural prowess on the global stage, featuring top-tier artists from various generations and fields.
Hosted by actor Jung Il-woo and SBS announcer Kim Ga-hyun, the lineup includes Insooni, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, fromis_9, H1-KEY, HARMONIZE, sEODo BAND, Shin Chae-lin, the National Dance Company of Korea, the National Chorus Youth Education Members, the Seoul Performing Arts Company, and the History Children's Choir, offering a rich mix of K-POP, traditional Korean music, musicals, and choral performances to celebrate 80 years of liberation with the public.
The 80th Liberation Day eve celebration "We Are the Light" is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and produced by SBS MediaNet.
The event will be broadcast on SBS at 12:20 AM on August 14th (Thursday), with a follow-up airing on SBS Life at 7 PM on August 15th (Friday).
