Actress Cha Joo-young has teamed up with Professor Seo Kyoung-duk from Sungshin Women's University to participate as a docent in the special exhibition "Light in the Darkness: Korea's Fight for Freedom" (literal translation) commemorating the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation from Japanese occupation.

Starting today (12th) until October 12th, visitors can listen to Cha Joo-young's voice explaining the main exhibits at the Deoksugung Dondeokjeon, hosted by the National Heritage Administration.

Cha Joo-young gave explanations on various exhibits, including Ahn Jung-geun's calligraphy, documents related to the anti-Japanese militia, the Jingwansa Taegeukgi (Korean national flag), the Malmoi manuscript, the Misailrok (Secret Diary), and a Taegeukgi bearing Kim Gu's signature. Visitors can access these explanations by scanning the QR codes next to the exhibit's name cards.

Professor Seo Kyoung-duk, who planned this event, shared, "Last week, we released a multilingual video with Cha Joo-young to promote Korea's independence movement cultural heritage both domestically and internationally." He added, "We introduced the exhibits with the voice of a popular celebrity to help visitors more easily understand the history of Korea's fight against Japanese occupation."

Cha Joo-young expressed her hopes, saying, "I hope many will watch the videos, and also a lot of visitors come to the special exhibition and make good use of the docent explanations."

Meanwhile, the National Heritage Administration and Professor Seo Kyoung-duk are planning to release another multilingual video on Korea's independence movement cultural heritage in September.
