Musical actor Jeon Ho-jun has broken his silence on social media four months after becoming embroiled in a personal scandal.
On the 11th, Jeon posted a lengthy message on his Instagram, stating, "I never thought of myself as a public figure until this major incident happened, which led me to pause my Instagram activity." He continued, "The incident is currently under legal review. I will definitely take responsibility if I have done anything wrong. It's with caution that I return to continue living my life."
He concluded, "I am grateful to those who have believed in and supported me. I will live more diligently moving forward."
Previously, in April, Jeon was accused by his ex-girlfriend, Ms. A, of assault and financial exploitation, sparking controversy. Ms. A claimed that Jeon assaulted her during their relationship and deceived her financially under the pretense of marriage. She also raised suspicions that he was seeing multiple women simultaneously during their relationship.
In response, Jeon stated, "There was a physical altercation when Ms. A trespassed into my home and I attempted to stop her," claiming self-defense. At the time, he released a photo of himself bleeding from the head and an audio recording to refute Ms. A's "distorted facts."
As a result of the scandal, Jeon also stepped down from his scheduled appearance in the play 'The Tonight Show'.
Meanwhile, Jeon made his debut in the musical 'Notre Dame de Paris' in 2007 and has appeared in numerous productions such as 'Mamma Mia', 'Wicked', and 'Kinky Boots'. He gained wider recognition in 2023 through JTBC's 'Phantom Singer 4'.
