It Is Not Just Jun Ji-hyun & Gang Dong-won; From Lee Mi-sook to Oh Jung-se, Meet the Characters of 'Tempest'
Polaris Disney+'s original series 'Tempest' has unveiled character stills featuring the powerful presence of actors Lee Mi-sook, Park Hae-joon, Yoo Jae-myung, and Oh Jung-se.

'Tempest' tells the gripping tale of 'Moon-ju' (Jun Ji-hyun), a UN ambassador who has gained international fame, as she investigates the mastermind behind a presidential candidate's assassination attempt. Alongside her is 'San-ho' (Gang Dong-won), a stateless special agent who must protect her at all costs, as they confront a monumental truth threatening the Korean peninsula. On the 12th, 'Tempest' released character stills of Lee Mi-sook, Park Hae-joon, Yoo Jae-myung, and Oh Jung-se, each leading South Korea in their respective roles.

First off, Lee Mi-sook, known for her unparalleled charisma in every role, plays Lim Ok-sun, the chairwoman of Aseom Shipping, the largest comprehensive maritime logistics company in Korea. She wields significant influence over the country's political and business circles. Having meticulously planned to make her son the president, she quickly shifts her strategy to support Moon-ju for presidency by any means necessary when unexpected variables arise.

The released still captures Ok-sun's icy, charismatic gaze, sparking curiosity about the lengths she will go to achieve her goals. Lee Mi-sook shared, "Ok-sun's thoughts, ambitions, and desires are vast. I've made efforts to compress and express these through changes in appearance and dialogue delivery."

Park Hae-joon, who has captured hearts across genres with his broad acting spectrum, plays the next presidential candidate, Jang Jun-ik. As a young politician from the New Republic Party, dreaming of peace and harmony, he wins widespread support with his warm and kind nature, reaching out to the elderly and connecting with children through songs. Jun-ik's bright, trustworthy charisma, as he shakes hands with citizens, adds to the anticipation of Park Hae-joon's unique portrayal.

Yoo Jae-myung, known for his profound presence in every project, takes on the role of Yoo Woon-hak, the director of the National Intelligence Service, who tirelessly works on international politics and national security, keeping the tension of war on the Korean peninsula at bay. The still shows Woon-hak deep in thought, hinting at the formidable power he holds to turn patriots into spies for the nation's interest, adding tension to the narrative.

Lastly, Oh Jung-se, renowned for his exceptional ability to embody any character, transforms into Jang Jun-sang, a prosecutor in South Korea, promising to reveal yet another facet of his talent. Despite being recognized for his competence, Jun-sang harbors feelings of inferiority and jealousy towards his brother Jun-ik, who has always stood out since their childhood.

Oh Jung-se stated, "Jun-sang's jealousy and inferiority manifest as anger and sometimes sadness. I focused more on how to harmonize well rather than making my character stand out."

With their impeccable portrayal of characters leading South Korea, Lee Mi-sook, Park Hae-joon, Yoo Jae-myung, and Oh Jung-se are set to deliver an immersive experience to the audience with their substantial performances.

'Tempest' will be available on Disney+, with the first three episodes airing on September 10th (Wednesday), followed by two episodes every Wednesday starting September 17th, for a total of nine episodes.
