
The soundtrack of the Netflix animated film 'KPop Demon Hunters' has soared to the top of the Billboard main singles chart, with composer EJAE sharing her overwhelming emotions.
On the 12th (local time), the 'KPop Demon Hunters' soundtrack 'Golden' achieved the remarkable feat of reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. EJAE, who took on the roles of lyricist, composer, and vocalist for the soundtrack, expressed her gratitude on her social media, saying, "I'm at a loss for words. Just tears. Thank you to everyone who has shown love."
EJAE also posted a screenshot of the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 chart, adding, "Thank you for all the love from Korea as well. I will continue to work hard," showing her appreciation to her fans in Korea.
Born in the United States, EJAE spent about a decade as a trainee at SM Entertainment, preparing for her debut. However, at the age of 25, she ended her trainee life and returned to the U.S. to transition into a career as a composer.
Since then, she has collaborated with numerous K-pop artists such as Red Velvet, aespa, NMIXX, TWICE, KARD, proving her talent. In 'KPop Demon Hunters', she voiced the character Rumi of the virtual girl group 'Huntr/x', gaining attention for her vocal and character performance.
EJAE mentioned in a recent interview with SBS, "I wanted to create a song that could be a beacon of hope. I believed in my mother's words that 'words can become reality', and felt that if I kept singing 'I can do it', it would indeed come true."
Additionally, EJAE is well-known as the granddaughter of Shin Young-kyun, a former actor and member of the National Assembly.
