SBS’s new variety show 'Island Hero', premiering on the 26th, has released a teaser, heightening anticipation for its first broadcast. In this four-part healing variety series, Lim Young-woong and his close friends escape their busy daily lives for a remote island village, transforming into “pollution-free island bachelors” and enjoying carefree, unplanned moments. Airing on Tuesday nights, the show promises viewers pure laughter and heartfelt moments.
The teaser video released on the morning of the 13th features Lim Young-woong, science content creator Orbit, 'Culinary Class Wars' chef Lim Tae-hoon, and actor Lee Yi-kyung sharing a meal and chatting like any group of friends.
When Lim Tae-hoon commented, “It’s nice to gather and eat together,” Lim Young-woong replied, “This is exactly what we came here to do,” showing his contentment with the laid-back atmosphere. When Lim Tae-hoon told Orbit, “You can talk about science all you want tonight,” the self-proclaimed “science maniac” lit up and replied, “That’s not something you should say lightly.” Lim Young-woong jokingly asked Lim Tae-hoon, “Do you want to go to bed early tonight?” — a friendly jab only close friends could exchange.
Another teaser shows Lim Young-woong giving a spontaneous live performance at his friends’ request. Using a spoon as a microphone and singing along to background music played from a phone, he performed the fan-favorite Warmth in a gentle voice. Free from the spotlight of a grand stage, his casual, outdoor performance conveyed a calm and tender emotion — just like the song’s title — wrapping the summer night in sentiment.
'Island Hero' will also debut a track from Lim Young-woong’s upcoming second studio album 'IM HERO 2' as its theme song. Accompanied by a special music video filmed against the backdrop of the blue sea, the release promises to deliver both inspiration and healing to viewers.
The gentle flavor healing trip of these pollution-free island bachelors — and the pure island village life of Lim Young-woong and his close friends — will premiere on Tuesday, the 26th, at 9 p.m.
