Kensie Kim, the vocalist who appeared on Epik High’s 2004 debut album title track “I Remember,” has switched careers to law ― and is now serving as a vice president and legal counsel at Lucasfilm, the studio behind 'Star Wars' and 'Indiana Jones.'
In Epik High’s Aug. 16 YouTube feature, the trio paid a cheerful visit to Lucasfilm. During the tour, Tablo revealed, “A friend who sang on our very first single works here as an attorney.”
That friend turned out to be Kensie ― a longtime pal of the group who now holds the title of vice president of business affairs and legal counsel at Lucasfilm.
On camera, Kensie shared that she handles talent contracts, adding that she worked on Lee Jung-jae’s deal, which surprised the members. Tablo noted it happened to be Kensie’s seven-year anniversary at the company, saying, “She looks so happy. We’re thrilled to see her thriving.”
According to Lucasfilm, Kensie Kim spent four years as a K-pop singer before studying overseas, graduating from law school with honors, and building a specialty in private equity M&A and media and entertainment transactions. He later brought that expertise to Lucasfilm, where he now serves as a vice president.
Epik High jokingly shot their shot for Hollywood next ― “Put us in after Jung-jae hyung!” and “We’ve got an in at Lucasfilm!” ― wrapping the video with playful sign-offs like “We’ve been approved” and “We did it (sort of).”
