Kim Woo-bin·Suzy·Writer Kim Eun-sook's 'Genie, Make a Wish' Sets October 3 Premiere
다 이루어질지니Netflix has locked October 3 (Friday) for the premiere of its new series “Genie, Make a Wish,” starring Kim Woo-bin and Suzy and penned by hitmaker Kim Eun-sook.

Dropping ahead of Korea’s Chuseok holiday, “Genie, Make a Wish” is a romantic comedy about a lamp-dwelling Genie (Kim Woo-bin) who wakes after a thousand-year break and crosses paths with Ga-young (Suzy), a woman who’s shut off her emotions. With three wishes at stake, their fateful encounter promises a rom-com that balances sugar and sizzle―between Genie clueless about the modern world and a heroine who refuses to feel.

A major draw is the long-awaited reunion of Kim Woo-bin and Suzy, who last teamed up in the 2016 drama “Uncontrollably Fond.” The ever-reliable rom-com lead Kim Woo-bin plays devilish Genie, while Suzy transforms into Ga-young, the strange and striking new owner of the lamp. They’re joined by Ahn Eun-jin, Noh Sang-hyun, Go Kyu-pil, and Lee Joo-young, a lineup poised to add extra flavor to the show’s offbeat universe.

A date-announcement poster and video unveiled on the 20th spotlight the pair’s golden chemistry. In the sun-flared heart of a desert, Ga-young stands clutching the lamp. As it begins to gleam, a gust of shimmering sand reveals the otherworldly Genie at her side―so close he could steal a breath―declaring, “I’ll scour the world to find you. Remember this: the name coming for you is Genie.” The twist that this wish-granting spirit goes by Iblis―the devil―spikes the intrigue, even as Ga-young stays cool and unreadable. The poster’s tagline, “Come, to the Fall,” further hints at a bond that’s anything but ordinary.

The enchanting fantasy rom-com “Genie, Make a Wish,” led by Kim Woo-bin and Suzy, premieres October 3 on Netflix.
