During the recent taping of Episode 14 of the SBS Life reality series "Queen of Taste," Kim sat down for a candid heart-to-heart with actress Lee Se-eun, a self-professed longtime fan.
The moment Lee saw Kim, she blurted out, "This is my ultimate fangirl moment. I'm shaking―I adore you," arriving visibly nervous. Kim lightened the mood with playful banter, quickly putting her guest at ease.
Opening up about her time away from acting, Lee shared, "After my first child, I wanted to go back to work, but then I got pregnant with my second. I kept wondering if I should be working or staying by my kids' side. You only get one chance to watch them grow."
"You did the right thing. Those days never come back," Kim replied, adding, "My 40s, spent with my kids, were the happiest years of my life."
Fighting back tears, Lee told Kim, "Your story really comforted me. You've become a guidepost. Seeing how passionately you’ve embraced motherhood made you a role model for me."
Kim, dabbing at her eyes, said, "That’s moms for you―once we start talking about our babies, the tears come." She continued, "To every mom torn between career and childcare, here’s what I want to say: I chose to be a mom first―before work. That made me happy, and I believe it was the right choice."
Episode 14, which also features Kim learning how to do her own makeup, airs Thursday at 8:40 p.m. KST. A same-titled video drops on Kim’s YouTube channel earlier that day at 11:45 a.m. KST.
