Actor Jeon So-min made her theater debut with the play 'The Hymn of Death,' earning roaring applause and a warm welcome from the crowd.

On the 17th, Jeon took her final bow at LG Arts Center Seoul’s U+ Stage. Portraying Yun Sim-deok, Korea’s first soprano who lived through the upheaval of the 1920s, she won over audiences with blazing passion and a heartfelt, grounded performance.

Despite this being her first play, Jeon grew with every show, shaping a Yun Sim-deok that felt distinctly her own and adding emotional depth to the production. On a stage where laughter meets tears and sorrow brushes up against hope, she moved in sync with the audience, turning each moment into a record of unvarnished truth.

After the curtain fell, Jeon reflected, "Meeting the audience for the first time was equal parts thrilling and terrifying. I was able to perform thanks to everyone who shared those overwhelming moments with me―the audiences, my fellow actors, and the staff." She added, "What I felt inside the theater was beyond words. I’ll hold on to the excitement this play gave me and carry it forward. Thank you, truly."

Already active across film and television, Jeon broadened her range by stepping into theater with 'The Hymn of Death.' Inspired by the real lives of Yun Sim-deok and Kim Woo-jin, the production examines an era’s wounds and an artist’s turmoil, resonating deeply with audiences and drawing strong reviews.
