BOYNEXTDOOR just proved its pull in Japan once again.

The group fired the starting gun on its latest promotions by hitting No. 1 on the Oricon Daily Singles Chart with “Count to Love,” the lead track off its second Japanese single, “BOYLIFE.”

According to Oricon’s update published Aug. 20, “Count to Love” by BOYNEXTDOOR rose to No. 1 on the Daily Singles Ranking dated Aug. 19.

The momentum didn’t stop there: the track also led Japan iTunes’ Top Songs (dated Aug. 19), while the music video topped Japan iTunes’ Top Videos (dated Aug. 18) and Line Music’s Daily Music Video Top 100 (dated Aug. 19), underscoring hot demand from local fans.

Released Aug. 18, the single “BOYLIFE” also opened strong, debuting at No. 1 on Japan iTunes’ Top Albums chart (dated Aug. 18).

“BOYLIFE” packages BOYNEXTDOOR’s youthful energy and confident charm into four tracks: the original Japanese lead single “Count to Love,” plus Japanese versions of the previously released Korean songs “I Feel Good,” “Nice Guy,” and “Dangerous.”

“Count to Love” spins a universally relatable love story with playful, vivid lyrics. Member TAESAN took part in both the songwriting and composition, further sharpening the group’s identity.

BOYNEXTDOOR will celebrate the release with a showcase today (Aug. 21) at Tokyo’s Toyosu PIT, then keep the heat on with a slate of Japanese music and variety appearances, including TBS’s “CDTV Live! Live!” on Sept. 1.
