Maggie Kang, director of the Netflix film "KPop Demon Hunters", opened up about where things stand on a potential sequel.
At a press conference held June 22 at CGV Yongsan in Seoul, Kang laughed when told fans are eager for more, replying, “I’m aware.”
“There isn’t an official plan yet,” she added. “But we intentionally kept some character backstories off-screen this time. Beyond that, I’ve got several ideas for where a sequel could go.”

Asked about the soundtrack, she said, “I want to showcase the range of Korean music―trot, heavy metal, and other genres I’d love to weave in.”
"KPop Demon Hunters" is an action-fantasy animated feature about K-pop superstars Rumi, Mira and Zoey, who moonlight as secret guardians protecting the world behind the glittering stage. Released on Netflix in June, the film has become the streamer’s most successful animated title and now ranks as its No. 2 most-watched movie of all time.
