Singer Kim Gun-mo will meet fans on a nationwide tour after a six-year break ― and insiders say he never stopped, keeping up daily practice and stamina training throughout.
On the 26th, promoter Istar Media announced it will open ticket sales exclusively on Yes24 at 2 p.m. KST on Aug. 29 for the "25-26 Kim Gun-mo Live Tour 'KIM GUN MO.'" It marks his first nationwide run since 2019.
Alongside the tour news came an update on how he spent his time away. According to a close associate, Kim never put the music down for a moment over the past six years.
"He went to the practice studio every day for vocal training, stayed in steady contact with younger musicians, and even tried out new material," the source said. "He also rode his bike tens of kilometers daily to build stamina. You’ll see all of that work onstage this time."
Kim stepped back from activities in 2019 amid a personal-life controversy while he was enjoying a career high on SBS reality series "My Little Old Boy."
He cooperated fully with the investigation and was cleared without charges; subsequent appeals and petitions were dismissed. Rather than rushing back into the spotlight, he kept his head down, focusing on music and training.
With a hiatus filled by practice and songwriting, anticipation is building for what kind of stage and message he’ll bring to fans.
The tour kicks off Sept. 27 at KBS Hall in Busan, followed by Oct. 18 at EXCO in Daegu and Dec. 20 at Daejeon Convention Center (DCC). Shows in Seoul and other major cities are slated for January.
