Choo Sung-hoon & Tak Jae-hoon's 'My Turn' Keeps Surging, Sets New 20-49 High & Tops Its Time Slot
My TurnAt the season’s midway point, SBS’ Thursday show "My Turn" is still heating up. The Aug. 28 episode marked the show’s third straight week of gains and hit a series-best 1.0% in the 20-49 key demo, holding No. 1 among variety shows in its time slot. Minute-by-minute household ratings in the Seoul metro peaked at 3.8%, according to Nielsen Korea. After word-of-mouth laughs helped it crack Netflix’s Korea Series Top 10, that momentum is now showing up in linear TV ratings too.

Episode 4 leaned into the chaos, charting fresh fractures inside Ppongtan Boyz, the show’s tongue-in-cheek trot crew.

Choo Sung-hoon stunned the house by announcing one half of his 8-carat diamond earring had gone missing. “I wear it every day―this one’s pricey, we have to find it,” he said, tearing apart the dorm until police were called. He even pointed to Tak Jae-hun―who’d been eyeing the bling―as a suspect. When an officer jokingly pressed Tak about whether his income had dipped since last year, Tak shot back, “Are you seriously suspecting me?”

Then came the twist: Lee Kyung-kyu showed up late… with the earring in hand, and was promptly escorted to the station. “I just picked it up and forgot to return it,” he pleaded, adding, “I was at the police station the other day, too!”―a line that sent everyone into hysterics.

Elsewhere, Kim Won-hoon quietly pulled Tak Jae-hun and Halla aside for a steak summit, where he flashed a flyer for Tak’s hush-hush nightclub gigs. Turns out Tak had been booking solo appearances behind the group’s back performing Ppongtan Boyz’s new track “My Fate, Oh My Fate.” Kim pitched a hustle: “Why don’t the three of us run with it? Low margins, high volume―we could stack serious cash in a month.” Tak worried about Lee Kyung-kyu’s reaction, but the promise of instant day rates proved irresistible, and the freshly minted “Ppongtan Trio” even knocked out their first booking.

Meanwhile, Nam Yoon-su’s shock exit threat threw the team into disarray. Feeling ignored, Kim Went off on Park Jihyeon and Nam Yoon-su, then tried to pit the maknae line against Choo Sung-hoon, souring the mood further. Pushed to the edge, Nam bolted: “Then I’m out.” With Nam MIA, Lee Kyung-kyu pivoted strategy―“Let’s go after the kids”―and booked a children’s event.

Cue the visual gag: Ppongtan Boyz rolled in dressed as Heartsping, a character beloved by little ones from "Catch! Teenieping." Tak grumbled, “What even is this?” while Kim―now temporarily in the lineup―was all in. And just before the credits, another member appeared in a near-identical costume, teasing yet another twist to come.
