Legendary vocalist Yim Jae-beum is making a grand return to K-pop with two pre-release tracks as he celebrates his 40th anniversary in music.

On September 17 at 6 p.m. KST, Yim will drop the advance singles “When You Arrive” and “Greeting,” his first new music in nearly three years since his 2022 full-length "SEVEN,".

That last album unfolded like a stage production―complete with a prologue, three acts, an epilogue and a bonus track―and showcased his soul-stirring, powerhouse vocals. The new songs are expected to carry that resonance forward while reaffirming the unshakable presence and depth of a master at the 40-year mark.

According to agency Blue Seed Entertainment, the pre-release cuts are crafted to spotlight different facets of Yim’s signature emotion. Longtime producer Park Ki-deok reunites with him, joined by 14o2 of the producer team Mad Soul Child, known for “Dear” from "The Man From Nowhere" soundtrack and Yim’s hit “Love.”

Ahead of the drop, Yim posted a studio-session video on his official YouTube channel, giving fans a rare update. His trademark gravitas and presence drew instant reactions: “We’ve waited so long,” “His presence alone is magnetic,” and “The king is back.”

Yim will also launch a 40th-anniversary national tour titled “I Am Yim Jae-beum,” kicking off November 29 in Daegu before moving through Incheon, Seoul and more, sharing the meaning of his four-decade career with fans across the country.
