G.NA Breaks Silence After 8 Years: "Silence Hurt the Most"
G.NA
Singer G.NA has broken her long silence with a candid, heartfelt message.

On Sept. 2, G.NA shared a lengthy note on social media, writing, “I’ve stayed quiet for years,” and reflecting that her time in Korea’s entertainment industry “changed me in profound ways.”

“The most painful part wasn’t what happened―it was the silence,” she continued. “I disappeared to survive, not to hide. I’m no longer a frightened girl. I’m defined by the choices I make, not by my past. I’m healing, growing, and reclaiming my voice.”

She added, “To the fans who still believe in me, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I also understand those who left. To anyone silenced by shame: your story isn’t over. It’s been a while.”

G.NA debuted in 2010 with “I'll Get Lost, You Go Your Way,” and scored hits with “Black & White” and “Top Girl,” earning wide popularity. In 2016, she was fined in connection with a prostitution-mediation case, after which she halted activities and moved to the United States.

At the time, amid financial difficulties, she met someone through an acquaintance and was convicted on prostitution charges. She later said that while she accepted the court’s decision, she did not agree that her actions constituted prostitution.

She has offered occasional updates on social media in 2017, 2021, and 2023. This new post is her first update in about 11 months―and her first long-form letter in eight years.
