YUQI of I-DLE will roll out the music video for the track “It Hurts” (literal title) ahead of her first solo single, turning up the anticipation with a cinematic teaser.
On Sept. 8, Cube Entertainment posted a teaser for “It Hurts,” a cut from YUQI’s upcoming single “Motivation,” on the group’s official social channels for I-DLE.
In the clip, YUQI plays the piano and shares bright, intimate moments with Chinese actor Wang Anyu, setting a film-like mood. Her delicate visuals pair with the song’s lyrical guitar lines for a tender, romantic feel.
The teaser closes with a brief line from “It Hurts,” then flashes the release plan: the full music video arrives Sept. 10 at 12 a.m. KST.
Wang Anyu appears opposite YUQI in the video, delivering subtle, emotive chemistry that hints at a poignant storyline. Since his 2018 debut, Wang has been gaining attention across a slate of Chinese dramas.
“Motivation,” YUQI’s first single, is packed with her own songwriting. The three-track set includes the title track “M.O.,” “It Hurts,” and a Chinese version of “It Hurts”. With this release, YUQI aims to cement her footing as a singer-songwriter, showcasing her honest emotions and distinct sound.
YUQI’s “Motivation” drops Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. KST on major streaming platforms.
