WOOZI of SEVENTEEN begins his active-duty military service today, the 15th.
According to PLEDIS Entertainment, he’ll report to a recruit training center, complete basic training, and then serve as an active-duty soldier in the army. He’s the third SEVENTEEN member to enlist, following JEONGHAN last year and WONWOO earlier this year. HOSHI is set to enlist on the 16th.
On the eve of his enlistment (the 14th), WOOZI stopped by SEVENTEEN’s world tour [NEW_] at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium.
He didn’t take the stage, but with a freshly cropped cut, he cheered on his bandmates and fans from the stands, sharing the moment in person. JEONGHAN and WONWOO―both currently serving―also attended, underscoring the group’s tight-knit bond.
From the stage, Mingyu told the crowd, “Some very special members are here tonight. There may be only nine of us on stage, but all 13 are in the building―it feels like we’re performing together.”
After the show, WOOZI wrote on Weverse, “It was my first time watching, from offstage, the members and Carats smiling to music I made, and it made me pretty happy. I’m heading in with a boost. I’ll be back healthy.”
Following WOOZI and HOSHI’s enlistments, SEVENTEEN will continue as a nine-member unit. The group is slated to perform at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium on the 27?28, mount a five-city U.S. tour in October, and embark on a four-dome run in Japan in November and December.
