Moon Seong-hyun Steps Down as Inkigayo MC After 1 Year & 5 Months: "I Learned So Much"
Moon Sung-hyunActor Moon Seong-hyun is saying goodbye to SBS’s "Inkigayo" after a one-year, five-month run as MC.

Moon signed off on the Sept. 14 broadcast, closing a chapter that began April 28, 2024. Teaming with IVE’s LEESEO and ZEROBASEONE’s Han Yujin, the youthful trio became fan favorites for their easy chemistry―dubbed “Yu-lee-seong” by viewers―and set a show record as the youngest and longest fixed MC lineup in "Inkigayo" history.

The trio’s sole actor, Moon leaned into his K-pop fandom with polished dance breaks while keeping live broadcasts smooth with steady hosting and quick reactions―earning solid reviews along the way.

Through his agency FNC Entertainment on the 15th, Moon shared, “I was truly happy to take on the "Inkigayo" MC role I’d always wanted to try. Getting to switch concepts every week was a blast, and I learned so much.” He added, “It still hasn’t sunk in that I’m leaving "Inkigayo", but I’ll be back soon with a wider range of projects.”

Moon has steadily expanded his range with roles in "Under the Queen’s Umbrella," "Reborn Rich," "Beauty and Mr. Romantic," "The Chairman Is Level 9," "Gangnam B-Side," "The Queen Who Crowns," and "Trigger," as well as the films "Dr. Cheon and the Lost Talisman" and "Fragment." Most recently, he joined the cast of the coming-of-age music romance film "Nerd Rhapsody."
