Yoona Scores Third Straight Hit with 'Bon Appetit, Your Majesty' After 'Big Mouth' & 'King the Land'
YoonaGirls' Generation star and actress Yoona is on a tear, scoring three hit dramas in a row.

Currently airing on tvN, "Bon Appétit, Your Majesty" (directed by Jang Tae-yoo, written by fGRD) casts Yoona as French chef Yeon Ji-young, who time-slips at the peak of her career and lands in the past, where she meets King Lee Heon (Lee Chae-min) ― a feared tyrant with an impeccable palate.

In episode 10, Ji-young is framed and thrown into prison. As Heon threatens to spiral into cruelty, she stops him with raw honesty. With help from Grand Queen Dowager Inju (Seo Yi-sook), she risks her life to clear her name and pushes forward to uncover the truth, ratcheting up the tension.

Ji-young then discovers that a component in Prince Jinmyeong’s (Kim Kang-yoon) regular medicine turns toxic when combined with ginseng. She meticulously prepares a restorative, Joseon-style spread to stabilize him ― and he finally recovers, bringing a collective sigh of relief to the palace.

Romance also deepened: after slowly warming to Heon’s advances, Ji-young tears up as she watches a private Cheoyongmu court dance performed just for her, and she answers his heartfelt plea to be her partner with a kiss ― sending viewers’ hearts fluttering.

Yoona’s performance goes beyond a standard romance. She threads inner conflict and budding attraction with layered precision, guiding viewers into Ji-young’s psyche and arc with ease.

Fueled by her turn, "Bon Appétit, Your Majesty" hit a new personal best with episode 10, posting 15.8% nationwide and 15.9% in the Seoul metro area (Nielsen Korea) ― the highest rating for any miniseries airing in 2025 so far.

Following "Big Mouth" and "King the Land," "Bon Appétit, Your Majesty" cements Yoona’s status as a bankable lead who can command both ratings and buzz. She continues to broaden her range across genres while delivering distinctly different shades of brightness each time ― setting the stage for whatever transformation comes next.
