Actor Kim Min-jong is making his big-screen return after two decades with the film “Firenze.”
Set against reflections that echo Dante’s life, “Firenze” follows a protagonist on a soul-searching journey that wrestles with life’s essence and meaning. Kim is expected to unveil a deeper, more grounded side with a mature, weighty performance.
From director Lee Chang-yeol―whose festival hit “A Song for My Dear” swept 56 awards―“Firenze” marks his fourth feature, shot entirely on location in Italy and powered by standout turns from Kim Min-jong and Ye Ji-won. Turkish screen icon Serra Yilmaz, who also works in Italy, makes a special appearance, adding extra gravitas.
A recently released short-form clip for “Firenze” has already sparked buzz, surpassing 20 million views. The footage shows Kim strolling through the streets of Florence in a suit, his pensive expression leaving a strong impression and dialing up anticipation for the film.
