Choi Min-sik and Han So-hee are teaming up for the Korean remake of "The Intern" ― and cameras are officially rolling.

Warner Bros. Korea confirmed on the 29th that the film has locked its principal cast and kicked off production.

A fresh spin on Nancy Meyers’ 2015 crowd-pleaser, the remake centers on Sun-woo (Han), a driven CEO of the fast-rising fashion label Woo22, who hires Gi-ho (Choi), a seasoned retiree, as a senior intern. Their unlikely partnership sets off a heartwarming, generation-bridging story about work, life and second acts.

Choi ― the powerhouse star of "Exhuma," "Big Bet" Seasons 1 and 2, "New World," "The Admiral: Roaring Currents" and "Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time" ― steps in as Gi-ho, a retiree jumping back into the workforce. Expect his trademark gravitas with a quietly disarming warmth.

Han So-hee takes the reins as Sun-woo, the charismatic head of Woo22, showing steel and charm in equal measure. Following "Project Y," "Gyeongseong Creature" Seasons 1 and 2, "My Name" and "The World of the Married," she continues her hot streak with another range-expanding turn.

Rounding out the ensemble: Kim Geum-soon plays Hee-sook, who runs Woo22’s cafeteria; Kim Joon-han appears as Woo22’s vice president Young-hwan. Ryu Hye-young is Min-a, Gi-ho’s manager and the head of corporate support; Kim Yo-han plays his fellow new hire, Joo-sung; and Park Ye-ni joins as merchandiser Yu-jin.

The film is directed by Kim Do-young, celebrated for the nuanced, empathetic storytelling of "Kim Ji-young, Born 1982." A Baeksang Arts Awards and Chunsa Film Art Awards best new director winner, Kim aims to craft an across-the-aisle crowd-pleaser that speaks to multiple generations.

"The Intern" begins principal photography today (Sept. 29).
