'Business Proposal' Star Kim Min-kyu Completes Military Service September 30, Readies His Next Act
Kim Min-kyuKim Min-kyu is headed back to the spotlight. The "Business Proposal" breakout will complete his mandatory military service on Sept. 30.

The actor enlisted as an active-duty soldier on April 1, 2024, fulfilled his duty, and is set to be discharged on Monday.

On Sept. 29, his agency Companion Company thanked fans for their unwavering support and noted there will be no on-site discharge event. “Given it’s a regular military unit, an influx of outside visitors could cause congestion and safety concerns, so we decided not to hold a separate event,” the company said.

Kim made his drama debut in 2013 with tvN’s "Monstar" and has since earned notice through a steady run of hits including "The Signal," "Because This Is My First Life," "Snowdrop," and more showcasing range and reliability on screen.

He surged in popularity with "Business Proposal," stealing scenes as Cha Sung-hoon―the loyal secretary to GO Food CEO Kang Tae-moo―and becoming a bona fide “bespectacled heartthrob.” He further flexed his versatility in "The Heavenly Idol," pulling double duty as high priest Rembrary and idol Woo Yeon-woo.

“We’re grateful for all the love during his service,” Companion Company added. “Please look forward to Kim Min-kyu’s post-discharge activities and continue cheering him on.”
