Alleged Illicit CCTV Footage Leak Sparks Uproar; VERIVERY KANGMIN's Agency Calls Rumors Baseless

A private clip, allegedly captured on CCTV and involving K-pop stars-like figure, began circulating online ― and as VERIVERY's KANGMIN's name entered the chatter, his label vowed legal action over what it calls baseless rumors.

On the 28th, a video showing two men and one woman in what appeared to be a private room at a bar started spreading across China's Weibo and other social platforms. In the clip, one man is seen hugging the woman from behind and touching her hair.

As the footage made the rounds, some users claimed the couple resembled a girl-group idol and VERIVERY's KANGMIN, fueling speculation. However, the blurry, low-resolution video makes it impossible to clearly identify anyone in it.

Jellyfish Entertainment, home to VERIVERY, issued a statement on the 29th firmly denying the rumors.

"We have confirmed the spread of groundless rumors targeting a member of VERIVERY. These are malicious falsehoods with no basis in fact," the company said, adding that it plans to pursue strong legal action without leniency against anyone who creates, spreads, or reproduces defamatory content.
